Annual General Meeting

Start thinking about our meeting in April. This will be a very special meeting. After the AGM portion, which we will try to make short, we will have a great new experience of having a  seasoned professional lead us in our "brainstorming" session on how to improve, grow and reinvent ourself as a society. This will be a great lesson to all of us. The skills and ideas that we will learn during this time will not only help us as a society, but we will all benefit as an individuals. We can very well use this new knowldege in our private and inventing time.

I hope that you are as excited about it as I am. Everyone's ideas are very valuable to us. I wish that you all can participate.

Sincerely
Maya Sinclaire

BCIS NOTICES

DRAGON'S DEN - Season Three

A great opportunity for inventors to have their invention seen on the national TV. Do not miss this excellent opportunity for free exposure, advice and possibly hard cash from experienced investors. Producers for the Dragons Den show will be doing auditions in Vancouver on the 18th and 19th of April/08. For details check their web site: http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden/ and also the now old web site: www.INSIDEtheDRAGONSden.com .

Several of our BCIS's members, who have already participated in the seasons one and two, can tell you that it was a great experience and an opportunity worth not missing.

I encourage you to watch the show. (You can glean a lot about the past episodes from the Dragons Den web site.) This show will give you an excellent insight on how the investors think and what they are looking for. Watching other inventors present their ideas, negotiate and make decisions will be an invaluable lesson to you.

DRAGONS’ DEN IS BACK FOR SEASON THREE!
Auditions heat up in Vancouver on April 18th and 19th

Got a hot business concept that needs some cash to get off the ground? Already have a great business that you want to take to the next level? Then get ready, because Dragons’ Den wants to hear from you!

Auditions are taking place in Vancouver for season three of DRAGONS’ DEN, returning this fall on CBC Television. The show gives aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of "Dragons" – wealthy Canadian business people who are entrepreneurs themselves. The prize is real cash and real investment – from the Dragons' own pockets. The Dragons have agreed to invest their own money in the best ideas – so get in on the action!

If you think you have the next great business venture, come out and meet our producers and audition for the show for a chance to pitch your idea to the Dragons on National Television!

Dragons’ Den will be holding open auditions in Vancouver on Friday April 18th, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday April 19 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Venture Development Centre, BCIT, 555 Seymour Street.

PLUS – Join us for an EXCLUSIVE audition session at the Vancouver Sun Sustainable Living Expo (EPIC) at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Center Friday April 18th from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

If you convince us that your concept is ready for the limelight, you could qualify to be on DRAGONS’ DEN. No experience is necessary. For this round, be prepared to make a pitch in five minutes or less. We will consider any idea — from underwear to new household inventions to energy-saving ideas and green businesses – as long as it can make money!

Please apply online and bring your completed application form to the auditions. Find details at www.cbc.ca/dragonsden.
