Dean Palmer - “Here Comes the Law" - Top Ten Ways to Get Bushwacked When Selling Your Invention”
Dean will touch on ten pitfalls to avoid when selling or commercializing your invention. Question period will follow.
Dean Palmer is an Intellectual Property lawyer. His practice encompasses the acquisition, protection, commercial exploitation, and enforcement of intellectual property (trademarks, copyright, patents, industrial designs, etc.) and related matters such as Internet and technology law.
Originally from New Zealand, Dean received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University and his Law degree from the University of British Columbia. Dean speaks and writes French and attended French Immersion programs at Université Quebec and Université Laval. He also spent six months in France studying Intellectual Property and European Community law.
Dean was awarded the Marie F. Morency Memorial Prize for the highest results in the Patent Drafting Exam in 2000 and a scholarship with the International Bar Association.
Dean serves on the Canadian-Latin American Amicus of the International Trademarks. Dean travels to Europe, the U.S.A, Asia, Australia and New Zealand to maintain contact with our network of foreign associates.
Dean instructs Business Law and International Law at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
