MORE INFORMATION ON OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THEIR EXPERIENCES AND INTERESTS:

Joann Robertson, President

Joann joined the BCIS in 1992 and has since served as Secretary, President and now Director of Communications for the Society. She holds a degree in Sociology and focused her career in program development, creating new counseling services, and volunteer coordination, information and referral. She's also taught courses in these areas as well.

As an inventor, she has had more than one idea develop into actual products. She enjoys responding to the Society's correspondence and helping other inventors with moving their ideas forward. She serves on the Board of Directors because she believes that it is important to make a contribution and return the help she received when starting out as an inventor.

Abdul Mohamed, Treasurer

Abdul is our Treasurer and has been an active member of the society for many years. Abdul is a professional accountant with his own accounting and consulting company which focuses on helping small or start-up businesses with accounting and tax issues. He is the cofounder of LIM Mobile Media, a Canadian mobile media advertising company. Abdul is strongly committed to his community, and is an Executive Director of Height Merchants Association in Burnaby and a Program Coordinator at the Britannia Community Centre. Abdul has a degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Simon Fraser University.

Abdul has many inventions to his credit, including Internet systems and electronic products. Currently, he holds several patents and he has several other products in development. Abdul brings tremendous energy and commitment to the BCIS, and enjoys helping and motivating other inventors. Abdul is very motivated to grow the Society's membership and increase the value we provide for members.

Vince Kristensen, Director

Vince has been a member of BCIS for over 15 years, and makes a terrific contribution by organizing our refreshments for each meeting. He has a broad range of invention ideas, including construction products and mechanical products. He especially enjoys our monthly meetings as an opportunity to connect with other inventors who share common interests, and because he finds inventing a welcome change of pace from his "day job". So, when you're getting your coffee, ask Vince about some of his inventing experiences and interests!

Ravi has worked for over a decade in the capacity of Project Manager and Consulting Analyst for major Canadian corporations. She completed her Project Management certification in 2000 with the University of Washington. She has successfully delivered numerous solutions in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Travel Services, eCommerce and IT Asset Management. Her expertise in process design, analysis, and business case development will provide a complimentary focus to our Board of Directors.
